We are sharing one of our detoxifying Green Juice recipes today. This one is a hydrating drink full of vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. This juice just might make you feel your superpowers 😉 Enjoy!⁣ ⁣ DETOXIFYING GREEN JUICE⁣ ⁣ Wash and prep ingredients⁣ Juice in order given⁣ ⁣ 2/3 cup of Italian flat leaf parsley (leaves and stems) packed ⁣ 5 large romaine lettuce leaves ⁣ 1 lime, peeled⁣ 1 inch of fresh ginger⁣ 1/2 cucumber, chopped⁣ 2 kiwi, peeled⁣ 1 green apple⁣ 2 stalks of celery⁣ ⁣ Yield approx. 16 - 24 ounces⁣ ⁣ Our friend, @stephanieleenutrition is back to share some of the nutrient highlights for this recipe:⁣ ⁣ Parsley - We are exposed to 100s of toxins on a daily basis, which depletes our antioxidant enzyme levels. Culinary herbs like parsley act as natural antioxidants to replete our stores. It is an important source of vitamins, essential minerals, and compounds like flavonoids, carotenoids, vitamin C, and vitamin E. These nutrients scavenge free radicals and support the detoxification process.⁣ ⁣ Romaine Lettuce - Romaine lettuce is an excellent low calorie/sugar juice ingredient. It’s a rich source of minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Fruit and vegetable juices made with romaine have shown some ability to change the balance of our gut bacteria to encourage weight loss, lower blood pressure, and decrease in lipid oxidation.⁣ ⁣ Lime - Citrus pectin is a compound found in the peels of citrus fruits like limes. Research suggests this compound can help with the body’s removal of heavy metals, support immunity, and promote cellular health.⁣ ⁣ Ginger - Ginger has shown impressive benefits on human health. With all the research behind ginger, nearly 100 compounds have been isolated. The most well known being gingerol, shogaols, zingiberene, and zingerone, terpenes, vitamins, and minerals.
