It’s a massive system issue, and it impacts endless individuals and families. The healthcare system/industry is a business, and because of that, sometimes true health and healing can get lost in the mix. I do think of course the healthcare system does help some! I know some amazing providers. I am not negating that truth at all. I also do not discount the fact that sometimes western medicine is lifesaving and needed! I am a pharmacist and have seen why we are fortunate as a society to have these “tools” in the toolbox for when we truly need them. But also, as a pharmacist, I think medications are severely over-used and can feel like the crutch of the healthcare system. Rather than guiding people on healing changes they can make in lifestyle and root cause healing! Unfortunately, medications cause more harm than good for many people. Often, one med leads to another med to deal with the side effects of the first med! And then what about the side effects of the second med? Probably another medication added on.... If you are on medications, no shame! I never share this in a space of judgement, but rather as observation from being IN the field for a decade. I have seen and experienced a lot as a healthcare professional in the system. It’s complex, broken in many areas & there is strong financial bias. I think functional based, root cause healing & lifestyle changes should be the way of the future 🤍 while truly reserving pharmaceuticals for when needed.
