“mother” is a word you inherit, but “mom” is a title you earn. it’s manifested in the unconditional love you felt for me even before you knew me. Being born into titles is a basic part of our life journey. You were first a daughter, then became a sister. The guidebook was lost, but you still navigated the varied responsibilities and heavy obligations placed before your feet. And somehow you manage to continue lifting until you are nothing but the embodiment of others—a physical manifestation of selflessness. This means anytime is a good time to pause and give thanks for the gift of you. Any gesture serves as a small token, symbolic of the quiet understanding that no words or acts will ever be enough.
