"Tár" protagonist Lydia Tár might be a fictional character, but lauded female conductor Marin Alsop is very much real, and remarkably similar on paper to the acclaimed film's titular character. Speaking with the British newspaper "The Times," Alsop shared that she initially found out about the film in August, and was shocked that many “superficial aspects” lined up with her life.
