Black Essence Part I The extraordinary accomplishments of Black women aren’t new, we didn’t arrive on the scene, and in 2020, we aren’t ever going to fade away like background music. Us women especially, my WOC aren’t a trend. What we are is truth tellers, world changers, and mountain movers. We’re agitating! And advocating! Standing on the shoulders of a long line of resourceful and resilient WOC. WE ARE preparing the next generation to take on the mantle with their own kind of activism. We should be proud of the woman we are becoming today. We should be proud of all we have accomplished thus far. We should be proud of the mindset we have instilled. We were raised to be a strong woman, to eventually raise even stronger daughters. Daughters who will be fiercely independent, who will hold great integrity, feel unstoppable with all their efforts and hold ambitious personalities.
