3 mistakes that could be causing issues with a clean and even bleach and tone root touch up:
1️⃣ Taking too big of sections. This causes some areas to not be as well saturated as others. Making sure your sections are small and consistent is important to a nice bleach and tone root touch up.
2️⃣ Not saturating well enough. This goes hand in hand with the first point. If your sections are too big the saturation of lightener won’t be able to cleanly work through all those hairs. You will always end up with some warmth. Make sure you’re takin thin sections to ensure an even lift.
3️⃣ Dragging the lightener down TOO far. This one is a hard one. How far is not far enough and how far is too far?? It comes with practice. I’ve been there done that with not pulling it far enough but then ended up with a few little dark spots. I’ve practiced over and over again until I feel like now I’ve got it right. My trick is pulling the brush to that line of demarcation and then feathering away. It also depends on the lightener you’re using, some lighteners swell and some don’t so make sure you know what you’re using to ensure a clean and healthy lift.
Lightener used @trussprofessional blancblond. It doesn’t swell much at all so I love it for my bleach ups because I know it will stay where I put it
