Since entering my 34th rotation my singing voice has been completely shot. Out of all the expressions which inhabit us singing is the one we feel most insecure about. The one that we seek external validation, and this has been extremely damaging. For a week I’ve been thinking how would we feel if we could never sing again. A number of emotions showed themselves. Fear,sadness and a deep sense of loss. Today we sat and tried, we got off to a ‘false’ start, and tried again. The past week has taught me a deep appreciation for you Voice. You gave me a taste of life without you. You showed us the cost of living in ego and not in spirit. This is not to seek validation but to mark the reconnecting. We know the journey will be challenging and that is welcomed.
