Located in a quiet residential area in the heart of Tokyo, ‘Hiroo Residence’ is a recent renovation project for a condominium at Opus Arisugawa Terrace & Residence. In response to the increasing desire of urban dwellers to reside closer with nature, the interior embraces the rawness of textures; the slightly white-stained oak floors and walls, along with plaster walls that cherish the handwork strokes. In addition to collaborating with karimoku, we designed the lighting fixtures, cabinets, and speakers; creating a sense of harmony in the forms and textures. We hope that the crafted space, created to make the home where one can feel true comfort, will serve as an aspiring way of living for urban dwellers who may be overflowed with information.
