The only thing better than New Year’s resolutions is last year’s realizations.⁣ ⁣ The unpredictability of 2023 is exciting, enticing, and full of opportunity. But we very well could miss every one of them without the guidance of last year’s lessons.⁣ ⁣ I like to consider resolutions the destination and realizations the map to get there. If you’re fortunate, realizations come to you simply through contemplation and learning from others.⁣ ⁣ But most of us will only experience deep understanding through personal trial and error. And nothing will teach you better than a mistake. Mistakes are dual in nature. On the one hand, they’re uncomfortable, have repercussions, and leave us feeling defeated. ⁣ ⁣ On the other hand, when you move beyond the temporary emotions of a setback, you’ll see that behind every wrong turn is a new chance to do things differently.⁣ ⁣ Some realizations take a lifetime. Some happen in an instant. But every single one of them offers clarity, insight, and answers.⁣ ⁣ The nine I’ve shared are just a few of the many I’ve collected this past year. I intend to use them to keep me grounded and focused on my purpose, create balance within the many moving parts of my life, and never lose sight of the things my spirit needs.⁣ ⁣ As goals and intentions evolve year after year, be sure to take into account what you’ve discovered about yourself and the world around you.⁣ ⁣ So when hard times come in 2023, don’t dismiss your struggle.
