Fresh Ideas for CalFresh report details reasons why Angelenos who qualify for public assistance don't apply. This is a nearly 3-yr project launched to understand access and participation barriers in LA County. 🥑 It uncovers challenges faced by food insecure Angelenos; provides community-informed solutions for government officials to improve access. 🍐 From project leaders to funders, this report was shaped by those with lived CalFresh experiences. 🍊It offers a new window of opportunity for program staff and systems of care providers to meet the psychological safety, needs, conditions, culture, and language for CalFresh eligible clients. 🍓 Uncertainty can happen to anyone, public food assistance programs should be a universal priority.
