• Alumni Spotlight • Oklahoma City University Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Entertainment Alumni, Abby Billings.🌟🌟 “Hi! I’m Abby Billings, a 2023 Dance Pedagogy graduate. Shortly after graduation, I was offered a contract with Disney Cruise Line as a dancer and performer. After rehearsals and training in Canada, I boarded the Disney Wish! I danced in Set Sail on a Wish (the first deck show of each cruise), Seas the Adventure (a Broadway caliber show in the Walt Disney Theatre), and Pirate Parlay (a deck show featuring live music, stunts, and fireworks). I also had the chance to perform in Olaf’s Royal Picnic, An Enchanted Engagement, Wishing Ever After, and Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean deck show. After I left the ship, I went on to be Associate Producer at Miss Missouri and Miss Missouri’s Teen for the fourth year in a row. During the week of competition I had the chance to stage choreography, create walking patterns, help create the lighting for each individual talent, facilitate and lead the Show Me Stars production, and help put the entire production together alongside OCU Dance alum Erika Hebron. I am truly thankful for everything OCU provided me. The program allowed me to explore different avenues, find growth in my abilities, and ultimately gave me the tools to flourish into the performer and teacher I am today. Upon graduation, I felt equipped to pursue my goals. I have taken the wisdom and values learned from OCU Dance with me everywhere I go!
