Laura Brown of @instylemagazine is a rebel in all the best ways. It’s rare for a 49-year old Black woman director who doesn’t act to a receive a cover fashion shoot invitation. Doesn’t happen. At least not before @laurabrown99 rang me. She revels in shaking things up. We had a blast with @drkariwill who dreamt up these gravity defying hairstyles, @adamburrell who painted my face like the artist that he is and the fabulous photographer @chriseanrose, whose beautiful Black gaze made me feel beautiful.
