Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer one to three times daily. Because excessive drying may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day. Q: How do I incorporate this into my routines? A: Salicylic acid is a BHA (beta hydroxy acid) and it functions as an exfoliant (like the AHAs that we use in the AHA Exfoliating Peel). AHAs are water soluble and are a wonderful option for dry, sun-damaged skin. BHA’s are oil soluble, allowing them to penetrate deeper to unclog pores and reduce breakouts. If you want to use both AHAs as well as BHAs in your skincare routine, we recommend alternating them nightly. You can use the Blemish Cream (with 2% BHA) nightly or alternate it with another exfoliant if desired. Q: Can I use this on my entire face?
