I’m reading this book that touches upon the amount of times the sahaba, sahabiyat & the people of the prophets time would pray. The author used an example of a lady (zainab the prophets saw wife) who prayed so much to Allah that she would tie a rope around herself and hang it between two pillars so that if she feels tired she would have the rope to hold her up to continue her Salah. This just emphasises how much the people of the prophets time would ask Allah for forgiveness & just show obedience to him. And also showed how important the sunnah was to them📿 ‘And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself, but then seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will find Allah forgiving and merciful’ verse 4:110
