I recently Googled the term "Travel Influencer,” and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my face as the first image that pops up 🥹🫶🏿 ..... I’m honestly still emotional about it. When I started One Girl One WorldTM️ in 2014 (my second travel blog, the first was in 2011) all I wanted was to “be the change I want to see in the world.” 🌎 There was no money in it, but I was so desperate to see more diversity in travel media that I decided to get in front of the camera myself - despite being very camera shy 😬 People thought I was delusional because it wasn’t a “real career.” ..... 🙏🏾 I’ve faced so many challenges pushing for diversity and fair opportunities for Black creators. Now I know that those who come behind me won't have to question if there is a place for them 🤎 everything else is just an added blessing! ✨
