[MYTH BUSTING] Drinking water does not hydrate your skin. Or perhaps it’s best to say its not an efficient way to do so.
Please KEEP DRINKING WATER. Your body needs it to function and we need it to live. However, it’s important to understand that, while some of the water we consume goes to the skin, most of it is used by the body for other processes, mainly those that have to do with eliminating waste and toxins.
This, paired with tras-epidermal water loss (TEWL), makes drinking water a bad way to hydrate skin. The most efficient way to hydrate your skin use to use humectants and lock in the moisture.
