A little preaching for you on a Sunday afternoon... 😉 For some reason, when I am teaching a group of young dancers, even when I don't get to see them on the other side of the camera (as with this class for CLI), I feel compelled to try to share something I wish I had been told as a student. I usually don't have the right words (maybe why I'm a dancer and not a writer), but I do believe we need to practice expressing why our artform matters. I am forever grateful I have been able to work for artists like Crystal Pite and Andy Blankenbuehler who are DEEPLY articulate and inspiring when they speak about dance and it's value in the world.
