Can you believe all these places are in Austria?! 🇦🇹 📍 Admont Abbey Library 🥀@benediktinerstiftadmont The Admont Abbey Library is the largest monastic library in the world at 230ft long, 46ft wide, and 42ft tall. Walking into what was once called “the 8th wonder of the world” feels like stepping into Belle’s Library from Beauty and the Beast. It was completed in 1776, is home to over 70,000 books, and considered to be one of the most beautiful libraries in the world! 📍 Hallstatt ❄️ The lakeside village of Hallstatt is arguably the most beautiful place to visit in Austria. Hallstatt’s fairytale-like appearance has made it a bucket list destination for people across the world. If you’re familiar with the Disney movie “Frozen”- this village looks like it was the inspiration behind Arendelle. Hallstatt can get very crowded depending on the time of year you go so we highly recommend getting there as early as possible if you want to avoid the crowds. We were there for sunrise and had an incredible experience. 📍Sound of Music Tour @visitsalzburg 🎶 Did you know that the true story, that The Sound of Music film is based, took place in the Austrian city of Salzburg? Even better- you can visit some of the most popular locations from the movie for just the price of parking! We started our self-guided tour in Werfen on “The Sound of Music Trail” which takes visitors to a viewing point with magnificent views. This is where Maria Trapp taught the von Trapp children the famous “Do Re Mi” song and it’s also where the picnic scene was filmed. Then you can drive to Salzburg to visit Mirabell Garden, the Gazebo from “16 Going On 17”, the Von Trapp Estate, and more! Send this to someone who loves fairytales. 😍 #hallstatt #austria #soundofmusic #frozen #arendelle #beautyandthebeast #fairytales #europetravel
