I really thanked my fragrance pals, @scent_for_sense , @sam_and_her_scented_stories and @nici_scents for inspiring me to finally own this perfume. It's like, "Once upon a time, there's a beautiful princess called Midnight Rose. She is the princess of The Great King, Tresor. She transformed into a beautiful princess only in the Midnight. When the sun starts to rise, the Princess will turn back to a flower, namely The Midnight Flower, a purplish flower that's precious and has a secret magical powers, in which everyone is looking for it, including the evil sourcerer, Jezebeth".
Disclaimer : This is merely my fantasy fairytale story 😁.
.
I am certain that Midnight Rose is not being talked by many anymore, I'd say, since many new fragrances has been released as well as the Niches. It is like being forgotten and gradually sunken till no one remembers, IMO.
.
I sense sort of green nuance and soury/tart red berries smell in the beginning. The only red berries that came to mind is Raspberry. Then the Rosey scent came through with florally sweet character. Not a gourmand type but the sweetness came from the Rose flower itself. The middle note of MR really blooms and showcased herself slow and steady. On the drydown, I get Vanilla, Patchouli and a bit powdery scent. Sorry for how I smelled it. It's merely my nose (I'm not sure on others) as there's no Patchouli stated in Lancome official website. Long story short, I used to dislike Midnight Rose few years back, even though I know this is one of my friend's favourite perfume. Since MR doesn't become a hype anymore, therefore, I decided to give myself a second chance and see how it goes.
.
Midnight Rose is definitely a keeper for me. I love its presentation. An ombre shade to the flanker and a small dark purple Rose attached at the neck of the bottle. Everything seems to enchants everyone who sees it.
.
The end ~
