There’s a difference between joyful anticipation and rushing. This birth was beautifully unrushed from baby boy’s birth to mamas placenta delivery. Her placenta took a little over 2 hours to detach, but her midwife remained unphased. She watched her vitals closely, communicated some possible scenarios/interventions, but mostly encouraged mama that waiting and trusting was the best route. And with that empowerment, mama was able to trust her own instinct and change positions back to where she gave birth, kneeling over the couch.
