What does it mean to cultivate relationships guided by ego vs being guided by spirit? In my ancestral tradition of the Dagara people in Burkina Faso whole relationships are rooted in community, mutual trust and understanding. Relationships guided by ego don’t lean on community for support, are not open and don’t apply the Necessary changes in action. Relationships rooted in intimacy— build to learn and understand each other’s personalities, wants, dreams, conflicts and pain. In Dagara, this happens through African ritual. So I’ve been thinking and visualizing the type of relationships I have and the relationships I desire in my life. And here’s to what I am continually calling in. I am calling in relationships rooted in deep intimacy. Where the ability to see each, learn each other and understand each other feels incredibly sacred and the time is made for it to show up fully present. I am calling in relationships where we attentively listen to each other’s expression and hold space for our truths.
