We’ve got to keep our theological perspective on health consistent, including when it comes to mental health which has a dynamic of factors including biological, neurological, genetic, environmental, social, psychological and spiritual. I’ve worn glasses for my eyesight since the third grade because my eyes aren’t functioning properly. I’ve never had someone question or assume my faith because I’ve decided to use a corrective prescription to help my eyes function instead of just trusting God for clear eyesight. In the same way when it comes to mental health we are still dealing with organs and biological systems that sometimes need more correcting so someone can get back to basic functioning and show up for the lives that they’re called to live. Everybody’s journey to healing and recovery is going to look different because our make up and our stories are different. I am so happy to hear about the testimonies of instant healing but we also need to leave room for the process of healing when it doesn’t happen right away. That doesn’t make someone less of a person of faith, it makes them human. ❤️
