A postcard view during a non-postcard season ☔️
Some years stick season is almost nonexistent and other years we get weeks of deep red, green, brown, and amber hues. There’s something particularly peaceful and beautiful about stick season, but it never really seems to get the love it deserves.
✨ Waits River is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it hamlet that’s always been very popular for photographers during foliage and winter. We drove through here at “night” (4pm lol) and loved how cozy the village looked as dusk set in. Doesn’t it make you want to just snuggle up in front of a fire?
Even though this view has been captured thousands of times, every photographer and content creator has a unique perspective of this scene. Some choose to leave photos untouched and show every detail in its purest form. Others like to take slight creative liberties when editing and remove unnecessary elements. Here is a fun example of each approach and a little reminder that power lines exist here in Vermont too!
📸 We don’t see anything wrong with taking something insignificant OUT of a photo like power lines, road signs, and pipes. What makes us a lil sad is when people add big items INTO their photos. We’ve all seen those influencer posts with cherry blossoms on maple trees and perfectly carved pumpkins lining every street...these types of embellishments are just insulting to Vermont’s beauty 🤣
Are you Team Purist or Team Creative Liberty when it comes to photos?
