Enhancing features I like about myself hehe ✨ Features I have (SLOWLY) grown to like about myself...my forehead, my eyes and my freckles (I obviously have many other features I’m still learning to like about myself). *jokes aside lol* A common denominator between those features are, that those were the features I was mostly bullied for or made fun out of. With a pretty big forehead, I was called “Gervinho” (who is a football player, he must’ve been good as he made Captain for his country in the 2008 Olympics so that’s pretty cool. And yes, he apparently has a “big forehead” hence the comparison). If people wanted to see me as Asian at that specific time (if you’re mixed, you’ll probably know what I mean) there was of course the racist slurs thrown about at school (you know the one which racists usually refer to someone who comes from China??? god knows how many times I’ve wanted to throw a geography book back, there’s more to Asia than just China - also not condoning this slur btw) but anyway, there’s many reasons why people may not like the way they look because of the mean things that people say to eachother. And even though they’re just words, it really does stick around and it’s hard to unlearn and forget. But I’m very thankful for @islaarobinson for tagging me in her challenge because it’s made me reflect on how far I’ve become with self acceptance & love 🫶🏼 If you made it this far, thank you haha.
