I am so grateful and so ecstatic that I got the opportunity to have 2000 Memories recorded by the Budapest orchestra!! Sadly this is the last recording I’ll ever have as a master’s student at NYU, but it is one that I am really proud of! I have grown so much as a composer and as a person over the last couple of years. And I am super grateful to everyone who has supported me. I have found myself chasing my nostalgia so much lately, so I tried to capture it in this piece. I drew inspiration from songs and scores that are meaningful to me, and also included bird calls I would frequently hear in my childhood neighborhood. I have a deep sense of nostalgia for the 2000s since I grew up in that time, and that’s why I named my piece 2000 Memories.
