An opportunity is coming up to see what is, without question, one of the most beautiful places in #Iowa. The @halloflaureates headquarters of @worldfoodprize is featured on my page so often for a reason. If you don’t know, World Food Prize is an organization that recognizes people who make significant advances in addressing food insecurity, it’s amazing that it is here in Des Moines because it brings attention to our city from all over the world. The hall itself is not always open to the public but you can see it at their upcoming Gala on July 26. Originally built as the public library and then stunningly transformed into a world class event venue and office space- I go every time I can. Tickets to the Gala will benefit the WFP’s mission (Laureates are awarded a grant to continue their work), and you’ll get a chance to try out some local vendors who have donated their services to the cause for the evening! It’s free appetizers and live performances. This is a formal red carpet event, but they want it to be family friendly- so you can dress up or dress a little more casual.
