Welcome to The Gay Lane 🌈
After a year-plus in development, @nathankirouacyork and I are so proud to introduce our own queer travel brand — a celebration of queer culture in unexpected places.
Featuring original and evocative travel stories, immersive travel guides, queer travel news, a YouTube channel, social media, and online queer community networking, @thegaylane serves as a reminder that queer culture is everywhere — from small towns to big cities, red states to blue, and countries far and wide.
Writing about queer culture in unexpected places has been vital to me since moving to Oklahoma City — a place mired in stereotypes, where the robust LGBTQ+ community typifies our ethos, and where I’ve never felt more wholly myself. It’s communities like these that we want to celebrate, because for far too long, queer travel content has been confined to Pride Month, gayborhoods, and nightlife. Queer culture is evergreen and omnipresent, from West Virginia to Disney World, and from Milan to Moab. I couldn’t be more proud to launch this brand in a city that has been so good to me, and introduced me to Nathan.
Now more than ever, with DEI under siege and our trans brothers and sisters being vilified and erased, it’s important to be louder and prouder. With The Gay Lane, we’ll do just that. And I’m so lucky to do this with a talented and impassioned partner who believes in this as much as I do. We’re in this together — Nathan and I, and all of our LTBTQ+ community members and allies.
Check out our stories on www.thegaylane.com (link in bio), and subscribe and share if you’re so inclined.
And huge thanks to @thehousecreates / @zlucerophoto / @thechriscox for producing this INCREDIBLE video! As well as to @vibrosonic for our logo. And our beloved @cattlemenssteakhouseokc for letting us take over your dining room ðŸ¤
With Pride,
