The Perseids is an annual meteor shower with its peak activity falling on August 12, 13, and 14 this year. Typically, at its peak, you can see 50-100 "shooting stars" an hour with the naked eye. This year it coincides with a super full moon, so visibility will be lower, but you can still expect to see around 10 shooting stars an hour. Pretty “stellar” if you ask us.
Some of our favorite places to watch the stars are Grand Canyon National Park, Glacier National Park and Shenandoah National Park.
Get outside this weekend and reach for the stars!
