One of the first steps of manipulation and control can be to disconnect people from their thoughts feelings and convictions- whether that be in a general language or spiritual language. I’m gonna shoot it straight because I believe we’re all mature here, amen? That transition, that career move, that relationship decision, that health decision, mental health choices, that financial choice, that degree choice, etc. I’ve seen too many people (including myself at one point), make subjective choices according to the preference & pressures of others, sometimes even cloaked in the name of “Gods will”, only for it to backfire and set people back detrimentally. Counsel is a great sounding board to have. I believe in it. I believe in collective wisdom. But I also believe that what works for someone else may not always be as applicable or beneficial in our situation. Sometimes it may even create more harm. And that’s something worth keeping in mind. If God is the source of wisdom and knowledge, then God is also in common sense wisdom, practicality and discernment. Things that we also personally have access to. I wish I learned this and stuck to my own convictions when it came to certain life choices sooner than later. Because once I did so much fell into alignment in my life for the better. And I post this hoping someone else gets it sooner. If you haven’t explicitly heard it said yet: You are allowed the space to get with your convictions, get with your trusted people, get with God and decide what is right for you based on the fact that it is you (and maybe your dependents too) living with the outcome. ❤️
