I hate that Halloween 🎃 has traded creativity for convenience. Costumes with such little creativity and so much plastic. All single use & unethically made. So I got back to the fun part: making a mess, making mistakes, and making it myself 🪡🧵✂️ I used a pattern by @twigandtale for the wings 🦋but I uh… upsized them by 5 inches. I don’t know how I pulled that off. Seriously it was a miracle they came out as good as they did!! I totally self drafted Tippy’s costume but I definitely was off on the measurements lol. It could have been bigger at every single point 😅 But that’s what I love about sewing. You learn something with every project and now I feel like I could remake his costume and it would be 10x better but I didn’t have time to do that before Halloween. I ran out of time to make Madison’s flower 🌸 soooo I thrifted a white jumpsuit, dyed it green, and found the flower on Facebook marketplace. I spent so much time trying to figure out how to make my wings & Tippy’s costume and I was dead set on making Madison a milkweed costume specifically… but I had no idea how to do that so here we are.
