Come with me to the @foreverytype x “The Hair Tales” screening! I had the pleasure of flying out to LA right after homecoming weekend (I know! Doing the most, but it was well worth it) to attend this lovely event in celebration of Black hair. If you aren’t already familiar, “The Hair Tales” is a new 6-part docuseries on @hulu produced by Oprah Winfrey, Tracee Ellis Ross, Michaela Angela Davis, Raeshem Nijhon, Kisha Imani Camero, and @carritwigg . It highlights the various journeys of Black women and their hair, and the complex culture of Black hair overall. We watched the second episode highlighting Issa Rae and let me tell you, there were so many relatable moments. We are all different, but in some way have many of the same experiences. After the screening we had an intimate Q+A where I shared my own hair journey along with other guests. It was such a beautiful moment, and I’m grateful for For Every Type for getting us all together! Not to mention, I got to take over their Instagram and chat one on one with some other guests on how the episode resonated with them. AND got the scoop their hair styles for the day.
