⚠️🇦🇫 One year on: ~ The Taliban have banned girls from attending school ~ Women are prohibited from making long-distance journeys and are gradually being erased from public life ~ The UN estimates that 92% of the population do not have enough to eat ~ The country is in economic collapse. Food and fuel prices continue to rise at alarming rates ~ 70% of media outlets are closed and the censorship of media means many atrocities are left unreported ~ Afghanistan remains in dire need of international assistance ~ In spite of the magnitude of the crisis, the situation is receiving little attention from the international community We stand in solidarity with those whose lives continue to be impacted by a regime robbing people of their basic human rights. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the crisis in Afghanistan is not forgotten, and that everyone gets the chance to live a life of opportunity and safety.
