Ok but I am SO READY to have the conversation about the body image issues brought on by the 00's Emo Aesthetic that said you had to have protruding hips and thigh gaps to be 'emo enough'. That beauty standard rocked my self esteem for YEARS. It's wild how certain subcultures have beauty standards that can end up being very exclusionary for so many. For those on the outside it can sound ridiculous but the gatekeeping felt so real growing up, and it felt like it was because of my body. What makes us magic is the fact we don't all look the same, and can come together to celebrate music, fashion, and all these things that we love no matter what we look like. We have got to put these ridiculous, restrictive beauty standards to bed! Thank you so much to my favourites @marywyattlondon for having me - I wish I could tell young me that I get to do this for a living!! Makeup by @rorocuenca, styling by @emmaloubeedie ✨ (Also I finally have an excuse to use this @aof_official song on a reel THEY ARE MY FAVES and I am low key passing out at the thought of seeing them in October!!)
