Did you know that once you break a sweat during your yoga practice you’ve done too much? 💦
Yoga was never meant to be treated as the modern day workout we see in the western world. As someone who used to love a hot intense yoga class, this upset me until I understood why—yoga is meant to be a work-in, not a work-out. It’s to calm and find stillness of the mind, not get it all worked up and stimulated. 🧠
Yoga postures help us find stillness of the mind—through the physical strength we find mental strength, and physical strength ALSO means sitting still too. Because a restless mind will never allow a body to sit still. 🙏🏼
