The sad reality is that in the black community, unlike many, most of our stories start with a tragedy. From lack of resources, death, gang violence, drugs, police brutality, and much more. We’re put in a box where many would see as a excuse on why we didn’t make it but not knowing if they were put in or raised in the same predicament, they would not have made it out. Those who have weathered the storm, we take pride in changing the dynamic or narrative of the outcome for people like us who had no star wish upon. To be an example of perseverance to become what you’ve always dreamt of. So, to those who are fighting battles at the beginning of this thing called life, charge on.
