Happy Sunday Dreamers! Who fancies a Whirl A Round today? 🤩 The Whirl A Round or “twist” ride, as it is famously known, was originally created by Eli Bridge - an American aircraft engineer in the 1950s. Immediately successful, it was copied all over the world! 🌍 Dreamland’s is an original Eli Bridge and was imported to the UK in the early 80’s and – hold tight for the techy bit... this one stands out because the car structure is made of aircraft aluminium, super lightweight and super strong. Starting life out in Southsea, our Whirl A Round was purchased by Richard Cadell in 2015 (look out for the RC initials in the ride design). Over two years, Richard and his team lovingly restored this ride (the whole thing is hand painted right down to the gold and silver leaf decorations!). Now, it’s one of the fastest rides at Dreamland and it’s already delighting thrill seekers of all ages 🙌 We’re open from 11am today, so come and check it out for yourself – we’ll see you there! 👋
