10 years ago today I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. - I had a cast on my arm from my finger tips to my shoulder when I answered the call from the doctor at home alone. #longstoryshort - I asked the doctor one question, “was I going to die!?” The doctor didn’t answer. - 10 years later I have written a book about my journey, that book has been scripted to become a film. I went back to school to get a masters degree at Harvard university to get rid of my chemo brain. I became a motivational speaker, continued my modeling career, became a runway model in NYFW and Miami swim week, I began speaking in prisons, I became a mentor to countless young adults, Breast cancer patients and survivors, I now serve on the Board of 3 non- profit companies and I am about to publish a second novel. - I wake up everyday in pain in my arm but with purpose in my heart. - Today is a joyous day of reflecting on how such a tragic phone call can turn into paving a wave of hope to so many. - Decide how you want to use your pain and let it fuel you to help others, #thankful #lighttheway
