I train athletes in 8 week cycles unless timing demands otherwise. I like the period as it allows enough time for solid, measurable gains but also allows for changes to an athletes programming fairly frequently. At the end of every cycle we measure the gains in certain qualities by testing. We usually test the following:
- Vertical Jump
- Max Vertical Jump
- Broad Jump
- Hang High Pull (bar velocity)
- Bench Press
- Squat
- Trap Bar Deadlift
