“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” It’s written on my shoes, and it got me through the race. The 26.2 miles on October 9th, 2022. Every time someone asks me how the race was, I smile. The same smile I smiled running through the streets of Chicago, listening to friends and family cheer on their loved ones. That crowd got me through the race. That and the man who sprayed me with a hose at mile 22 (ily). A goal that I’ve written down over 1000 times. I knew I was gonna do it, I just didn’t know how. That day was so full of joy, and pain, excitement and doubt, such a mix of emotions you can’t help but love every moment. Its a wild thing when your mind and body go to a place they’ve never been. It’s a trippy thing trying to cry at mile 21 but you’re so thirsty your body won’t produce tears. But the craziest thing of all is realizing that you actually can “do all things through Christ who gives you strength.”
