JB Blunk began making jewelry in 1954 at Palos Verdes College in Los Angeles where he taught ceramics – he continued to make one-off pieces throughout his life from his studio in Inverness, California. JB made jewelry for his wife Christine Nielson and other close friends. Here’s a photo of Christine’s jewelry collection in their home, c. 1975. In 1965, friend and painter Gordon Onslow Ford commissioned JB to make his wife, Jacqueline Johnson a bracelet. The Blunk Bangle is cast from this original, unique piece of jewelry. Assembled by Tess Young, the bracelet features a cylindrical silver band fitted with a solid silver sliding charm.
