In honor of Frankie's birthday on January 18, DJ Duane Powell, Frederick Dunson and our Director of Mellon Programs Dr. Sampada Aranke will discuss the relationship between movements for social justice and the liberatory potential of house music using Frankie’s personal collection of records as the focal point of conversation. After the dialogue, DJ Duane Powell will spin a birthday set dedicated to Frankie's legacy and impact that will have us embodying the archive through joy, movement and celebration.
