I'm in exploring a deeply evolving editing approach recently, basking in tutorials and reading work flow approaches. There's this feeling of satisfaction amid the growth, of inspiration and newness. I always want to keep exploring composition, color theory, and ways to produce greater depth.
I've found as my editing strengths have developed, the time to edit takes considerably longer with some images. It used be, way back in the day I mean, an edit would take at most 20 minutes. These days some images take hours to develop. Most of the time I approach an edit with a clear state of mind with intention for the result; sometimes it's fun to simply color outside the lines, explore how far I can go before it's over-cooked. Recently, one intention I've injected is a cinematic tonality, a potential reflection of the films I'm consuming.
I've also been reading and reviewing classical painter works. I adore exploring historic composition, the colors selected, the organization and perspectives in romantic and impressionistic era works. I need to get to an art gallery soon. These places are my holy temples.
There's this persistent feeling of needing to say more. So much more. It's the cusp of growth and development. I'm feeling so deeply inspired by other creatives these days, a head space I want to lean into further.
