“I just want to bring some joy and beauty to this sometimes sad world.” Spanish artist, illustrator and streetwear designer @kikillokikillo’s (Kikillo) eclectic art draws inspiration from 80s and 90s anime. His aesthetic range — which blends darkness and cuteness — extends from big-eyed original characters and layered vector graphics to distorted swirling imagery, pixilated landscapes and pulsating NFTs. “I love to give new and exciting perspectives. My ‘Energy’ series reunites a lot of elements of my different artistic phases. It’s like all my influences and software experiments are compressed in one artwork,” says Kikillo, who started sharing his art to Instagram seven years ago, while working as a product designer. “I make illustrations and clothing designs for a living, because I really love being my own boss.
