a 2022 audio diary ✨ Lessons I have learned: - you can work tirelessly toward success, but if you don’t have time to care for yourself or do things you love, it’s not worth it - time >>> money, but make enough so you don’t have to work day in and day out 😬 - create your community! you are a culmination of your five closest friends and family - the universe will present you with things it knows you’re ready for, and continuous bumps on the road and obstacles are signs you’re on the wrong path and in misalignment. - say no to things and people who don’t align with your values or who you want to be - pursue things you’re passionate about and you’ll always feel success - be the first to say you’re sorry if you value that relationship, and say it with sincerity and grace - home is a feeling: where you feel safe and seen. I have a home here with my sister and brother in law, my friends in EV, my college friends, my fitness community, and friends I’ve made throughout the years at festivals and in car pools (long story) - clutter in the home = clutter in your life. make appointments with yourself to take care of you + things: errands, finances, doctor appointments. self care isn’t always a spa day - when you’re feeling down, move. walk, run, workout. clear your head and get endorphins going. cry. but don’t try to numb how you’re feeling with drugs or alcohol. it’s better to face the music and figure out why it sounds so bad. - relationships take work but if they are able to grapple with your trauma and help you grow, it’s so worth it. - but before you even get there, work on the relationship you have with yourself first. be self-aware of who you are, who you want to be, and who you were (sometimes it isn’t pretty but it’s better to be honest with yourself) - crying is therapeutic btw, and it’s okay to cry. it’s your body releasing trauma. - believe people when they show you their true colors - give second chances, but if you notice their behavior doesn’t change, WALK AWAY. it’s not worth your time!! - and most importantly. keep people who make you laugh, smile, and hug you when you are hurting, so sooo close. ❤️ they’re the characters you want in your story.
