NEW HORSES: These two seniors were used to pull carriages for years, but now they’re starting their new lives in sanctuary at the future home of The Gentle Barn New York! After cofounder @JayLWeiner received a tip about where horses used for carriages are put up for auction, he met these two who had no other options. Because they’re older and have medical issues, they would’ve been sold for slaughter if The Gentle Barn hadn’t stepped in. At the hospital, they got blood work and farrier treatments on their feet. One had teeth that were so infected and decayed that his tooth fell out into the vet’s hand. The other had hind end issues and difficulty holding himself up. He began treatment including anti-inflammatories, and he will get regular chiropractics and massage therapy. They’re both starting their new life with proper nutrition, supplements, @JillandJoan CBD, @SunChlorellaUS superfood, @puremedy salve, love, support, and so much more. These first moments are everything for us, and we can’t wait to show them how wonderful their lives will be now that they’re no longer forced to carry heavy carriages.
