in the last 100 days, the islamic republic has violently m*rdered at least 69 chilldren, ~500 talented iranians + ~18K have been detained, tortured, r*ped + sentenced to death. these are the faces of just a few of the lives that have been brutally murd*red. i wake up + go to sleep, usually in tears, feeling helpless, angry + heartbroken thinking of these sweet faces. they did nothing to deserve this fate. how can your heart not break thinking of a 7 or 10 year old being m*rdered for no reason at all? these are brilliant, beautiful humans stolen from their loved ones at the hands of a tyrannical regime that should have never taken over (and drove so many of us out + tearing us apart from our families) 43 years ago. in the last 100 days, i have seen many non-iranians stand in solidarity, check in with + care about iranians—showing allyship + care for humanity. somehow, i have also seen iranians + non-iranians turn a total blind eye to the human rights crisis devastating iran. it’s not too late to start caring and doing something. the biggest ask is to amplify the stories of iranians by sharing posts like this + raising awareness. it’s not virtue signaling + DOES make a difference. social media posts have saved lives, delayed executions, led to release + political sponsors. my christmas wish is that we would stop our scroll more often to care about the world around us. i hope we can begin to be moved by the pain of others + realize that it IS our problem when someone else hurts or lacks basic, fundamental human rights + freedom. i hope we become more protective of one another. i hope we realize that it’s not a coincidence that we are all alive at the same time + share this earth with one another. i hope we can become less self-absorbed + realize life is a lot more meaningful when we are connected. i hope we start realizing that nobody is free until everybody is free + injustice anywhere means your freedom + human rights are also in question. i wish for more love, kindness + empathy in this world. i wish for better days ahead—for you, for them, for us + for the beautiful people of iran ❤️ #womanlifefreedom #iranrevolution #freeiran #stopexecutionsiniran
