Made it in the final days of @ceciliavicuna @guggenheim — and got to commune with La Vicuña, 1977, a work I acquired for the @mfaboston collection in 2018 (humbly I think her most important painting of the era, a self portrait.) And there is SO much more!!!! Curated by the fabulous @pablodelabarra and Geanine Guimaraes, including NEW paintings created specifically for the gugg’s show, a return to painting for Vicuña that I think can only mean there is a need once again—like there was during the age of socialism followed by dictatorships— to document the dystopia of our current political moment, which is also so full of hope and potential for a different world order (ours) Don’t miss this show, closing the 5th!!
