👇🏾The real Tea is in the caption. Let’s get into it.👇🏾 Here’s why putting aesthetics over the client experience is gonna ruin your client’s permanent loc experience. 👀 I know, I know. We see it online all the time so it became industry standard. Your client books a permanent loc appointment and She’s sooo excited to FINALLY GET LOC’D. 🙌🏾 You loc her hair, give her roots crispier than Popeyes chicken and she whipping locs back in forth. It’s a vibe.✨ Then on week 2, she’s in your texts and dms telling you there’s a problem👀; Her roots are puffy as hell. She thinks something is wrong because she’s not familiar with palm rolling. And ain’t nobody tell her that IT DON’T LAST. And Chile here’s the issue, on one hand you know you just did her hair and permanent locs really should be left alone to settle and on the other hand she has to work and wants to be presentable so the puffy roots just ain’t gonna do it for her. I get it, I too used to palm roll all my clients in the beginning of my journey as a permanent loc stylist. I see you making the same mistake, my girl. One thing I learned is that a bomb client experience is going to beat out cute temporary aesthetics any day. 📍Let’s fix this: Educate and Qualify your clients during the consultation. Are they familiar with palm rolling and the ongoing maintenance of it. If not, go into the pros and cons of each method. And guide them to what best fits their lifestyle🎯 Doing this will create amazing experiences and better client experiences = referrals & more client retention. Did this resonate with you? Let me know if you found this helpful PS: I’m finally working on my long awaited loc workshop so I’m excited to talk about permanent locs all this week.
