Tonight a mix of amazing songwriters and performing artists are coming together to celebrate the life and music of Adam Schlesinger, who musically spent his time between his band FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE and writing music for film and tv. Adam was one of the many lives lost to Covid last year, he leaves behind a loving family, friends, memories, and an incredible body of work. I was lucky to have spent time on tour with Adam and his band, and I learned how to write songs by strumming and singing along to his music. It made me want to start my own band and a few years later @rooney was formed. Adam was such a friendly, approachable, kind, and supportive person to be around. I’m playing a song tonight at the virtual tribute concert celebration that was one of my favorites on the FOW debut album.
