I very rarely create Black & White images of my underwater work, I just find it so hard to let go of the colour, but I do love the look of monochrome photos so I decided to try it with the talented @mermanjax & @hannahmermaid recently. I set myself some rules for the shoot though, as I wanted to keep the images as pure as possible, the biggest of which was to actually set my camera to B&W mode so I never saw what they looked like in colour. I also wanted to get back to how it felt to shoot film, so I limited myself to no major retouching and just a simple grade. The lighting on these shots was one single light source through a projector snoot, which only gave Hannah and Jax a small area of light to play in. It was definitely different, and I love the outcome.
